- The Freshnet System
-
The Freshnet System is an intuitive online ordering facility, which integrates your existing supplier base with your accounting system resulting in huge operational benefits.
Orders can be placed any time, 24/7/365 making it far more convenient than the traditional method of using the telephone and facsimile. Your order can be stored, giving you the flexibility to deal with any interruptions, and will still be waiting for you when you are ready to return and continue without loosing any information.
- How it works
- The order is keyed in and sent straight to the supplier, who then processes and delivers the goods.
A traffic light system allows you to monitor the progress of your order and revise if necessary. Once an order is placed, amendments can be made whilst it remains in the red zone. Once it has moved to the amber zone, this means that the supplier has opened the order, and in this situation you will have to contact the supplier to make any changes. Goods are on their way once the order has moved into the green zone.
Once the goods have been delivered the pub or restaurant has three days to raise any discrepancies with the delivery such as spoilt goods, quantities, replacement items etc. An invoice is then dispatched to a central pool where they are automatically accrued and once a month a statement sent to head office for payment.
- Cutting the Paper Trail
-
Using the Freshnet System means that the vast amount of paperwork involved with ordering and purchasing goods is immediately reduced improving efficiency and cutting administration costs.
- History of Transactions
- Each transaction is electronically logged, providing a history and complete audit trail, which can be analysed for spend patterns, seasonal trends and gives you the opportunity to assess and standardize your products and supplier base.
- Training
- The Freshnet System is extremely user friendly, and has been designed and developed with the input of chefs and managers. It is quick to learn, which is important because new and relief staff need to be able to pick it up easily. A computer in the kitchen for ordering produce online can be quite a cultural shock, but once mastered the benefits far outweigh that initial learning curve.
A series of one-day training workshops take place offsite for managers, deputy managers and chefs. This is followed up by a visit to each of the pubs or restaurants. Back in familiar surroundings any further questions can be raised, and support can be given to help set up specific ordering requirements to suit the way that individuals operate. The number of outlets going live is undertaken in batches to ensure minimal disruption.
- Implementation
- The Freshnet System is fast to implement, and a group of 35 units is usually up and running, ordering securely within a three month period.
Very little investment in hardware is required, just the ability to access the internet.
