Freshnet Systems was set up in 1999 by Stewart Brooks and Tony Swann to provide e-procurment systems for the hospitality and leisure industries. The company is based in Poole, Dorset.

Stewart has worked most of his career within the telecommunications industry. He started out as an electronics engineer within the Defence Industry, working for companies such as Plessey and Siemens. At a time of rapid growth within the mobile industry, Stewart joined Orange Communications as head of Market Development. In 1996 he founded Dolphin Customer Management acting as a consultant for a number of Blue Chip companies, both in the UK and overseas. These included Singapore Telecom, Whitbread, Vodafone, BT, Cable and Wireless USA and UK. Stewart joined forces with Tony Swann in 1999 to set up and develop Freshnet Systems Ltd.

Tony spent most of his early career managing technical installations within the fresh produce industry in Europe and the UK. His industry knowledge and close links with wholesalers led to the initial ordering and invoicing system that was later applied within his family run business. It is this basic proprietary system, which has been developed over the years and forms part of Freshnet today. Tony's knowledge, experience and standing within the European and British fresh food industry are exceptional. His vision of a single order / invoice and operating system combined with his market understanding continues to provide Freshnet with a unique competitive advantage.
